How We Do It

DBL Associates conducts search activity on both an “exclusive contingency” basis and a retained basis. Our retained search approach is structured so that the pressure is on us to perform. A small portion of the fee is paid upfront (to cover operating costs) and the remainder of the fee is only paid when the selected candidate accepts the offer and begins employment. To properly identify the best candidate for your organization we:

Obtain a thorough understanding of the strategic and tactical objectives of this role;
Work with the hiring manager to understand his/her management style and get a clear appreciation of the company’s culture;
Review interview techniques with the hiring manager to assist in the interviewing process; work with the hiring manager to identify areas not easy to evaluate in an interview;
Conduct formal interview with each candidate prior to recommending to determine if their qualifications and behavioral traits are aligned with the objectives of the company;
Conduct formal reference checks on each final candidate;
Assist in the pre-negotiation, offer, closing, and job transition process.
